Plans for 22,000 new homes in York have been objected to by housebuilders.

The Home Builders Federation has said that the time period for York's proposed Local Plan is unclear and therefore it could harm developers future plans.

Fears have also been raised about more homes being packed into the proposed city centre sites than can actually be built.

It warns the plans would "inevitably" mean smaller house sizes with small gardens and no garages.

The body also warns the council is putting too many restrictions on house builders, which could mean some sites planned for development won't get built.
