(Updated 11:03am 25th April 2014)

York police have released images of two people they need to identify after a large number of video games were stolen in the city. They were caught on camera on Thursday 9 January 2014, in the Tesco store at Askham Bar. The man and woman were with a boy believed to be his mid-teens. It is believed that they took around £1,500 worth of PS4 and Xbox games, before leaving the store without paying for them.

The stolen games include Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Battlefield 4 and FIFA 14. Other titles taken are Just Dance, Need 4 Speed, Lego 2 and Ryse. PC Sam Abel, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you recognise either of the people caught on camera I urge you to come forward and contact the police straight away. “If either of the people caught on camera is you and you are not responsible for this theft, please contact me straight away so I can eliminate you from my enquiries.”

Anyone who can assist with this investigation should contact York police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Sam Abel. Alternatively, information can be emailed to samantha.abel@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting reference number 12140006541.
