Appeal For Witnesses To Assault At York Station Which Left Victim With Fractured Cheek

Two men, aged 23 and 32 from Leeds, suffered serious facial injuries following the assault, which took place on Sunday, 20 April. One of the men received multiple fractures to his cheekbone, the other lacerations to his face which required gluing.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who may have been outside the pub or at York station between 9 and 9.30pm on Sunday and witnessed the incident.

Police Constable Penny Halliwell, leading the investigation, said: “Two people, a 26-year-old man and a 19-year old female have been arrested in connection with this incident; they have both been interviewed and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“We are currently following a number of other lines of enquiry, including looking at any CCTV opportunities from the station but are also keen to hear from anyone who may have any information that could assist this investigation.

“If you were at the station or outside the pub and witnessed this assault then please contact us.”
