North Yorkshire Police Investigate Racist Incident in York

The incident occurred at 7.55pm on Tuesday 11 March 2014, on Fawcett Street, as a small red car passed a black man walking along the path, a woman passenger leant out of the car and was racially offensive.
The abuse was reported by another motorist who had been offended by the behaviour.
PC Tony Barnes, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This kind of racist behaviour is wholly unacceptable and not something we will tolerate.
“I ask the man who was subjected to this abuse to come forward straight away, so that I can take a statement from him.”
PC Barnes added: “I am also keen to speak to anyone else who witnessed the incident and ask them to get in touch as soon as possible.”
