York building company fined

A York based construction company has been fined £20,000 after one of its cranes overturned seriously injuring a worker.
Shepherd Construction Limited, of Jockey Lane in Huntington, pleaded guilty to breaching the Health and Safety Act.
Magistrates have fined the company and ordered them to pay costs of £6,900
The courts heard how a cherry picker toppled over, leaving its driver with serious injuries to his skull, back and legs.
