The Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Julie Gunnell, has personally brought together an important array of events at the Mansion House to mark York International Women's Week.
With over 60 events this year ranging from workshops to live debates, York International Women's Week once again looks set to enliven the city between the 8th -15th March 2014.
One of the main events taking place today is by York's Feminist Network who are holding a march around the City Centre in celebration of Women.
They will set off from St Helens Square at 3pm this afternoon where everyone in and around the city centre is welcome to come along and join in the festivities.
York Outer MP Julian Sturdy said: "International Women's Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate the social, political and economic achievement of women, but it also gives us the opportunity to determine which issues still need to be addressed."
