North Yorkshire Police Call For More Volunteers

New North Yorkshire Police Officers

10:46am 2nd March 2014

The North Yorkshire Police Force needs you.

They are calling out for any keen volunteers to help officers and other staff members deliver services to apply and get involved.

Police volunteers are non-uniformed volunteers who engage in a wide selection of supportive roles which complement the work of paid police personnel, and act as an important link between the local community and police.

These jobs include admin duties, offering crime prevention and carrying out checks on vehicles.

Head of Volunteering, Richard Baldwin told Minster FM people could also join a special response team: “If we had been unfortunate enough to be in Somerset we would have had a lot of volunteers out helping with the floods.

“We get floods in this county so they can help there, they can help with leaflet drops, marshalling at major events and other ad-hoc duties where we need large numbers of people at short notice.”

To apply to become a volunteer or to attend a recruitment event all details can be found on the North Yorkshire Police website - http://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/volunteers .
