Minster FM Lendal Bridge Debate: Buses Up To 10% More Punctual
1:02pm 26th February 2014
Buses in York are being 1% and 10% more punctual since York's controversial Lendal Bridge trial was brought in six months ago, the head of First Bus in York has told Minster FM's Lendal Bridge debate.
Ben Gilligan from First Bus said cross-city services have seen the biggest benefits in time savings and that if the trial is made permanent timetables could be overhauled to take advantage of the time buses have saved. He added this lead to more frequent services for passengers.
To mark the six month point of the trial, Minster FM held a debate allowing key opinion formers representing tourists, businesses, drivers and bus users to share their views with the city council, as well as putting questions from Minster FM listeners.
