7:30am 30th January 2014
Young people in Pocklington, Market Weighton and Stamford Bridge aged 12-18-years-old who would like to do something to help wildlife and have fun at the same time can join wildlife and environmental group, Phoenix.
This group, aimed at young people, gives you the chance to take part in conversation activities on fantastic nature reserves.
Last year saw the group building nest boxes, making rafts for water birds, planting and chopping down trees, exploring deep within a reed bed, and clearing out a pond.
There is also the chance to see amazing wildlife such as buzzards, goshawks, nightjars, adders, slow worms, dragonflies, butterflies and moths.
Activities are led by East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Countryside Access Team, and supported by RSPB registered volunteer leaders.
Some activities are featured in the event booklet which can be found by visiting www.eastriding.gov.uk/events and further information can be found by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (01482) 395207.
