Renewed Appeal As Search For Missing Riccall Man Continues
8:22am 2nd January 2014
Police have renewed their appeal for information as they continue to search for Simon Hodgson-Greaves who has been missing for more than 10 days.
Simon’s camper van was located in the RSPB car park at Bempton Cliffs near Bridlington on 21 December 2013. However, say police, despite extensive searches in the area there has been no trace of him.
He is known to enjoy camping and it is not unusual for him to spend days away at a time but officers are concerned for his safety as nobody has seen or heard from and he has not returned to his van for a considerable length of time.
Simon is described by police as white, around 6ft tall, with a slim build. He has sandy coloured hair, a greying beard and moustache, blue eyes and wears spectacles. It is not known what he will be wearing, however, he is known to dress very smartly and often wears tweed jackets, shirts and scarves.
Officers are appealing to the public, especially people who have been in the Bempton Cliffs area to contact them if they think they may have seen Simon or have any information about his whereabouts.
Detective Inspector Shaun Page, said: “Simon has been missing for a fairly long period of time now and his family have spent the festive period not knowing where he is or if he is ok.
“I would appeal to people to come forward if they have any information which can help us to find Simon. It doesn’t matter how insignificant you think your information is, it could be vital to our efforts to find him.”
If you believe you have seen Simon or know where he is now, please contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and pass information to the Force Control Room.
The Missing People charity can be contacted on 116 000, the line is open 24 hours a day and information can be passed confidentially.
