3:08pm 30th December 2013

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a sneak-in burglary in York.

Sometime between 7pm and 7.20pm on Thursday 26 December 2013, thieves entered a shared house on Watson Terrace, in Holgate, through an insecure patio door and took a television and a Play Station 3 games console.

Officers have been reviewing CCTV footage in the area and believe that there were a number of people around at the time who may have seen any suspicious behaviour and are urging them to come forward.

Officers would also like to remind residents to be mindful of their home security and lock all windows and doors even when in the house.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Detective Constable John Phillips or York CID.

Alternatively, information can be emailed to john.phillips@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk

If you prefer not to give your name, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.
