Witness Appeal After Burton Stone Lane Collision
2:28pm 18th December 2013
Police are appealing for vital witnesses to come forward following a serious road traffic collision in York.
It happened at around 4.20pm on Tuesday 17 December 2013, on Burton Stone Lane, close to the York City football ground.
The collision involved a silver Mazda 6 car, travelling towards Bootham and 91-year-old man who was a pedestrian, who was crossing the road.
As a result of the incident, say police, the man suffered serious injuries and was taken to York District Hospital where he currently remains in a stable condition.
Traffic Sergeant Andy Morton, of the Force’s Roads Policing Group, said: “The witnesses I need to trace are a man described as Asian and two men with pedal cycles who didn’t speak English. They assisted the injured man at the scene but left before police arrival. I urge them to come forward as they may have vital information that could help my investigation.
“I am also appealing to anyone who either witnessed the collision or saw either the Mazda or the pedestrian prior to the incident and ask them to get in touch.”
Anyone with information about this collision should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Andy MacLeod. Alternatively, information can be emailed to Andy.email@example.com. Please quote reference number 121302180183.
