Police in Easingwold Investigate Church Lead Theft in Alne

Police are appealing for witnesses after lead was stolen from the roof a church near Easingwold.

Sometime overnight between Friday 13 December and Saturday 14 December 2013, thieves targeted St Mary’s Church in Alne.

Officers are appealing to residents in the area to be vigilant, especially at night, and report any suspicious people or vehicles to the police.

If possible take down the registration number of the vehicle, its colour, and the direction it travelled in. This information is very useful to officers and can help them track down suspects more effectively.
