UK Snooker Championship boasts York's economy

The UK's snooker championship could mean more to the city than just sporting accolades.
York's economy could be boasted by up to a million pounds thanks to the thousands of vistors who come to the area for the tournament.
The event, which takes place at the York Barbican, sees both the UK's top players and local snooker players compete. It takes place between November 28th and December 8th.
Tony Watkins, who's from York Barbican, says that their research shows tourists visiting the competition will spend an average of £65 per day in the city. With 10,000 vistors expected to descend during the event, a million pounds spent within the city seems entirely possible.
