Water Rescue In Goathland

A man's been rescued after falling down an embankment in Goathland.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were called to the Nelly Ayre Foss Waterfall at Goathland at around 1.30pm yesterday afternoon where a man had fallen approximately 15ft down an embankment landing on a ledge next to a waterfall and just above water level.

Fire crews were sent from Goathland, Lythe and Robin Hoods Bay and specialist water rescue crews were sent from Whitby and Malton. 

The man aged in his mid 30's was rescued by water rescue teams and stretchered to safety, he was then taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from minor neck and spine injuries.
