Appeal To Find Distinctive Items Stolen In Thornton le Dale Burglary

Detectives are appealing for information after distinctive items were stolen from a house in Thornton-le-Dale near Pickering.

Between 26 and 27 October 2013, a Robert Thompson ‘Mouseman’ solid oak, kidney shaped tea tray with two carved mice on the edge was stolen along with a bone and ivory carving of a crocodile and four elephants set on a black plinth.

Officers believe the burglars were targeting specific items as other valuable items were left behind.

Police are appealing to anyone, in particular collectors or specialist dealers across North and West Yorkshire who may have been offered the items for sale or know where they are now, to contact them.
