Rucksack Containing Cash Stolen in York Mugging

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed in York.
The victim, a 45-year-old local man, was walking along the alleyway parallel to Monkgate, behind Sainsbury’s and Go Outdoors, at around 11.35am on Monday 18 November 2013, when he was attacked from behind.
His rucksack containing a large amount of cash was stolen in the incident, which left him shocked and suffering from minor injuries.
He was seen by paramedics and later went to York Hospital for a further examination.
Officers are appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch with information.
