North Yorkshire Fire And Rescue Set To Save More Lives

7:52am 12th November 2013

Firefighters in North Yorkshire say more than 150 lives will be saved through their work in preventing fires.

The county's fire officers set themselves a target of saving 125 people through their prevention work between 2004 and next year.

But they're set to beat that. Current figures suggest 151 people will be alive who otherwise would have died.

It's based on their work installing smoke alarms and helping people plan ways to escape a fire in their homes.
