A York man's been sentenced to four years behind bars after being sentenced on a charge of unlawful wounding.
Michael Bennison of no fixed abode admitted the charge at Newcastle Crown Court last month.
Bennison will also have to pay his victim £120 in a victim surcharge.
An attempted murder charge had to be dropped, when North Yorkshire Police were unable to provide forensic evidence relating to a knife in the trial of the 29 year old.
Police in North Yorkshire said previously the details of the case will become public once sentencing has taken place.
They've told Minster FM they're hoping to give their version of events later this week or early next week.
