Selby Police Investigating After Man Indecently Exposed himself

8:22am 18th October 2013

Selby police are investigating after a man indecently exposed himself near the town.

Officers say it happened at around 8.45pm on Saturday 13 October 2013, when two girls, aged 14 and 15, were walking on the A162, between Brotherton and Byram.

A man dressed as a French maid lifted his skirt to reveal that he was not wearing any underwear, say police. They add that he did not directly approach the girls or make any comments to them.

PC Nicola Gill, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Due to the way the man was dressed I believe he was either on his way to fancy dress party, or on his way home from one.

“Although he did not approach the girls, they were naturally left very shaken by the incident.

“His behaviour was disgraceful and something we will not tolerate. If you have any information which could help to identify this man, you should contact the police straight away.”

Anyone who can help to progress this enquiry is asked to contact Selby police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Nicola Gill. Alternatively, information can be emailed to nicola.gill@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.

Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting reference number 12130178377.
