One of York’s most deprived neighbourhoods has seen the number of people out of work there fall for the first time this year.
The Kingsway West area has seen the number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance drop from 76 in June to 71 in July.
The decline follows months of hard work by authority partners to help residents find work and training opportunities.
The Westfield Ward in York has also seen a fall in the number of young people not in education, employment or training dropping from 49 in December to 41 in July.
