Battle for future of local radio
5:43am 12th January 2010
The battle to keep local radio the way it is, has taken another step forward.
MPs have gathered outside Westminster Hall calling for Broadcasting Minister Ben Bradshaw to secure the future of local stations.
The debates come about due to fears there is not enough space on the digital network.
In North Yorkshire there's just 8 places for over a dozen companies.
Scottish MP Alistair Carmichael has secured the debate and Selby MP John Grogan, York MP Hugh Bayleey and Vale of York MP have told Minster fm they will be there
