Two Arrested Over Suspected York Charity Bin Theft

York police are appealing for the owners of clothing believed to have been donated to charity to come forward.
It comes following the arrest of two men from Bradford, West Yorkshire, aged 25 and 28, at 3.40am on Monday 8 July 2013, on Muncastergate.
At the time of their arrest, the men were in possession of clothing believed to have been stolen from a charity collection bin in the city.
The recovered clothing includes items of Milthorpe school uniform, a red t-shirt with the name Sawyer on the label and a set of overalls bearing the number 299 on the shoulder.
PC Mark Patterson, of York north Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you have donated clothing matching the description of the items we have recovered, I ask that you come forward and contact the police straight away so that I confirm they have been stolen.”
