Man assaulted in Thirsk

Man assaulted in Thirsk

5:14pm 8th January 2010

A man's been assaulted on Sowerby Flatts in Thirsk.

The 20 year old was attacked as he walked over a footbridge which crosses Cod Beck at 8am this morning.

It's believed the attacker may have sustained an injury to his face during the incident.

The area is popular with dog walkers and police believe there may be witnesses to the incident.

Police are particularly interested in speaking to a man seen walking his spaniel dog in the area at the time.

The man was wearing an orange coloured coat with a mountain motif.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Northallerton CID on 0845 60 60 247.  Or, if you don’t want to give your name, you can ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
