Humberside Police Issue Crime Alerts for Pocklington, Market Weighton and Gilberdyke

Pocklington Police

8:36am 21st July 2013

Humberside Police have issued three new crime alerts this weekend:

  • At about 3.30pm on the 18th July, a newish white VW Golf was seen in the Denison Road area of Pocklington with a female driver.  Another female was also in the passenger seat.  Both had been attempting to sell carpets door to door and the driver had a notable Irish accent.  The driver had blonde hair and was described as being about 50 years of age.  Please be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to the police.
  • In Market Weighton Saturday afternoon, a green transit van pulled into a yard on Southgate before speeding off once seen by the occupier of the premises adjacent to the yard.   There was apparently a lot of scrap metal in the back of the van.  No registration number available.  Again, please report any similar sightings to the police.  Log 472 refers.
  • At Bellasize Park in Gilberdyke in the early hours of Saturday morning, a motorcross motorcycle was taken from the garage of a property.  The offenders were disturbed by the occupiers and but made off with the bike.  There were three of them dressed in dark clothing.  The bike was recovered after it was crashed and it is believed the offenders made good their escape in a car.  Please ensure if you have a similar type bike, it is as secure as possible.
