York Maze's House of Cornfusion
6:01am 20th July 2013
York Maze’s new indoor attraction, Kernel Kernel’s House of Cornfusion is set for its official opening today (Saturday 20th July). The indoor attraction provides mystery, amusement and illusion in a crazy world of corn-fusion, says Tom Pearcy, York Mazes owner.
He adds: “Kernel Kernel is our Maize mascot who loves meeting our visitors. We have built a new House of Illusions, or as we call it a House of Cornfusion in his honour. It is an indoor world of mind bending trickery where rooms appear to shrink, expand, fall over, and even turn upside down!
“Visitors have had a preview of the new House of Cornfusion this week ahead of the official launch on Saturday. Their reactions have been amazing. It may be corny to say so but visitors are saying they really can’t believe their eyes!”
The magical centre piece of the official opening today will be an impossible appearance of York Maze mascot Kernel Kernel at 1.30pm, says Tom. The architect of the Kernel’s magical appearance is master mystery performer Luke Jermay, who has consulted for the likes of Dynamo and Derren Brown, he adds. Luke says: “The house of cornfusion is a really fun and amazing experience that will cause you to question what your eyes see right in front of you!”
There will also be roving magicians at the Maze throughout the day to amaze and confound, says Tom.
York Maze is open to the public daily until Monday 2 September. See www.yorkmaze.co.uk for details.
