Police hunt for missing Wath man

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information to help trace a man who has been reported missing from Wath, near Ripon.
Ian Simpkin, aged 36, of South View, Wath, left home on foot at 10am on Sunday 3 January 2010.
His concerned parents raised the alarm at 6.15pm on Sunday after he failed to return home.
Mr Simpkin, who works at a local scrap yard and is a part-time gamekeeper, was also due to attend a hospital appointment this morning (Monday 4th Jan 2010) but he failed to show up which further increased the worry for his safety.
A large-scale search covering a two kilometre radius has been conducted by North Yorkshire Police, the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team, RAF Mountain Rescue and also an RAF helicopter.
Despite the intense search effort up until dusk, Mr Simpkin remains unaccounted for.
Further checks at local hospitals and travel operators have found no sign of him.
Mr Simpkin is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, stocky build, short blond hair and blue eyes. It is believed he was wearing a green fleece top, blue jeans, a dark woolly hat and green Wellington boots,
