Make your old £1 coin make a real difference

Raising money for two amazing charities

On Friday 26th May we're asking you to find your old £1 coins and donate them to charity.

On Local Radio Day each year Minster FM showcases the very best of what we, as a local radio station, do.  This year we've chosen to mark the day by raising money for two local charities, St Leonard's Hospice and York Teaching Hospital Charity's Dementia Appeal.

On Friday 26th May Minster FM will devote itself to raising money, everyone who works here will be on the streets of North Yorkshire, but to raise the maximum amount of money possible we'll need your help.

The old pound coin will cease to be legal tender later this year so we're asking you to take one old shaped pound coin to work with you!  (Of course we'll happily accept new pound coins too!)  We'll then visit your workplace and collect the money before handing it over to the charities.

Businesses, schools, community groups, everyone is welcome to join in.

To help us ensure we collect as much money as possible please register your details with us below and we'll make sure we come and see you on Local Radio Day!

Local Radio Day

At Minster FM, we're devoted to North Yorkshire, and are proud to serve this beautiful county and its amazing people.

radioWe believe that great local radio, based here in the county, can help change the lives of the people who live here, and make a real and lasting difference to North Yorkshire.

We love being able to support local people, events, charities, community initiatives and businesses, as well as keeping you in touch with everything going on across the county.

So we're involved in Local Radio Day on Friday 27th May to celebrate what a local radio station can do for the area it serves.

Local Radio Day celebrates the partnership that exists between radio stations and their listeners and sets out to demonstrate the difference that local really makes. It is all about you, who like us, live and breathe North Yorkshire!
