Saturday 29th July – headlined by Scouting for Girls

A succession of popular artists have thrilled Flamingo Land's Party in the Park crowds, but perhaps the most iconic has been Scouting for Girls, who rocked Riverside One back in July 2016 and they will be hitting the stage once again this July.

As one of the most popular British Pop-Rockers in recent years, Scouting for Girls has racked up an impressive list of achievements since 2005. A string of top-twenty singles including 'Heartbeat', 'Elvis ain't dead' and 'She's so lovely', plus their number one hit 'This ain't a love song', have been supported by four Brit Awards nominations and an MTV Europe Music Award nomination for best new act.

Scouting for Girls has also enjoyed four successful albums, including their 2008 chart-topper, the self-titled Scouting for Girls. So, it is little wonder they are still incredibly popular across the UK and Europe.

New for 2017

The two-storey Hub entertainment complex opened at Easter and features the Upper Deck fish & chip restaurant with adjacent HMS Bouncy soft play area and takeaway counter. This leads onto an outdoor balcony where you can enjoy your refreshments whilst admiring the view of roller coasters and the Splosh water area.

The Fuel Stop cafe and Cool Fuel ices are located on the ground floor, along with an indoor seating area.  You can create your own best friend at Teddy Mountain, where after selecting your chosen bear, you can stuff it yourself, add a scent and sound and select its outfit.

The Selous Black Rhino Reserve has recently welcomed Baringo II, a new male who is part of an international breeding programme.  He has joined the 3 females already housed there.  Flamingo Land will also be welcoming 2 new male white rhinos at the beginning of May, replacing the 2 older males that have recently moved to other animal collections.

Flamingo Land's new rainbow lorikeet walk-in aviary has also now opened, where you can buy a pot of nectar to feed these brightly coloured birds.

Also, keep an eye out for this Season’s babies. Visit Sophie, the female Rothschild giraffe calf born in January, and her younger brother born in early May.  You can also see the zebra foal that was born in April out in the paddock with her parents.

Peter Rabbit Adventure

Hit Cbeebies animated series Peter Rabbit is heading to Flamingo Land with an all-new Peter Rabbit Adventure attraction from mid July.  Join Peter, Lily and Benjamin in their Secret Treehouse before testing your skills on Benjamin Bunny’s Treetop Trail.  Hop along to Jeremy Fisher’s musical pond to explore giant instruments and learn about sounds from the giant lily pads.

Flamingo Land is sure that fans of all ages will love exploring Lily Bobtail’s Nature Discovery where you can crawl through tunnels and find creepy crawly creatures in Bug Log.

From mid August you will also be able to see Peter Rabbit and Lily Bobtail character costumes.

Flamingo 1

After the end of July, you will be able to experience the thrills of self-drive kart racing over a 300-metre circuit. Featuring a figure-of-eight format, you and your fellow competitors can enjoy side-by-side racing over three individual lanes on ‘Flamingo 1’. Although the majority of the circuit is outdoors, it also passes through our new Hub building.  Spectators can also watch the action from a dedicated elevated viewing area.

The Hub can be accessed via our monorail, which links directly to the animal collection.  Later this summer, this will be exchanged for an amazing new electric monorail where the carriages will benefit from air-conditioning and video screens.

The Mansion House

The Mansion House & Tea Rooms was renovated a couple of years ago and allows guests to step back in time and enjoy traditional English refreshments, lovingly served in elegant surroundings. Evening dining is also available on selected dates for non-residents and resort guests and is also available to hire for parties and corporate events.

Weddings

Flamingo Land have recently been granted a licence for civil wedding ceremonies in the Mansion House, which is also situated adjacent to the local village church. A wedding could also incorporate animal interaction, such as a lemur experience or being married on the wooden decking located within the zoo. Christenings and private parties are also welcome.
