Gin Masterclass with Afternoon Tea
Pairing two of life’s simple joys – gin and good food – this superb two-part experience is perfect for whiling away an indulgent afternoon together. Just a stone’s throw from the historic city centre, The Grange offers a luxurious base to enjoy your experience.

You’ll kick things off with a masterclass and tasting courtesy of local gin experts, Still & Heart. Highly personal, Still & Heart offer bespoke experiences to help the ‘gin curious’ learn and discover more about their favourite drink. Gin cocktail in hand, you’ll be guided through a number of different gins, garnishes and mixers. Along the way, you’ll learn a little about Britain’s complicated relationship with the famous juniper infused spirit. Experiment with up to four different gins before ending the masterclass with a large G&T of your choice to take with your afternoon tea.

The 5th Annual Dunnington Beer Festival
The 5th Dunnington Beer Festival takes place at the Reading Rooms on Saturday 25th March, 12 till midnight.
Come along and sample local craft beers (only £2.50 a pint) in a friendly community atmosphere.
This year we have introduced a specialist gin bar to appeal to those with different tastes.
Live music from 8.30pm with York’s very popular ‘The Mothers’ acoustic duo.
Tickets £10 to include first drink and souvenir glass available from the website or The Cross Keys in Dunnington
Last bus from Dunnington to City Centre/Poppleton is at 22.45, plenty of time for a good evening. (23.25 to Pocklington and midnight to Stamford Bridge).
We are all volunteers and every penny we raise is to support local football teams from Under 6’s to open age. We help provide pitches and goals, kits, balls and training courses and equipment.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People Awareness afternoon
Come along to meet Hearing Dog puppies in training, see a Hearing Dog demonstrating its amazing skills (3pm), and enjoy home made cakes and a cuppa.
We hope to raise awareness of the vital role these wonderful dogs play in the lives of deaf people, and recruit some volunteers who want to be involved in this caring charity.
Roles include socialising puppies from 8 weeks to 15 months old, providing holiday cover, fostering dogs, and bed and breakfasting dogs who attend the centre near Pocklington each day.
There is also a range of roles for volunteers at the centre at Bielby, near Pocklington.

York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with City of York Council and Skills for Care, is holding a shared recruitment and careers event, at York Hospital, for anyone interested working for the NHS or in adult social care.

On the day members of the public will be able to find out more about the wide range of vacancies which both sectors are looking to fill.

The event takes place at York Hospital on Saturday 25 March 2017, from 10am - 2pm in the Main Reception. Those who attend the open day are entitled to free parking and will receive a discount refreshment voucher for the hospital restaurant. There's no need to book, just turn up on the day.

Sing 4 Africa Concert
York professional musicians Ewa Salecka and Greg Birch are leading a full day singing tuition workshop followed by an evening concert with York choir Prima Cantica. The concert is in aid of York charity EMR4DW who support medical clinics saving lives of children in Africa. Tickets are available for the evening concert via our website or at the door.
