The next mammoth shindig Tom Townsend has lined up with Village Records Ltd. is on the 5th may 2017 at the Stephen Joseph Theatre whoo! He and the company are presenting a night of Village artists in their first amalgamated show, which will feature the ethereal tones of Cara Mellor, the fun humour of David Tomlinson, the funky groove of AC3, and of course the dynamic energy of Tom himself as the headline act. The quality of these musicians and songwriters is unbelievable, so you'll just have to come along and hear it with your own ears!'

In association with Jazz North, we're delighted to continue our 2017 top flight jazz programme with wonderful Lindsay Hannon Plus!

Palatable and accessible jazz, cabaret-style!

The Lindsay Hannon Plus will be playing tracks from their new album, ‘Make Dark Heaven Light’, from scuzzy blues laden narratives such as Tom Waits ‘Romeo is bleeding’ to roller coaster latin numbers such as ‘No more blues’ , ballads from Mark Knopfler and Robert Wyatt alongside some original blues and straight ahead swingers written by the band.

Recently selected to represent the North East’s jazz community for the European commissions ‘Singing Cities’ touring project, and Jazz North’s ‘Northern line’ programme, their second album, ‘Make Dark Heaven Light’ is due to be released spring 2017.
