Ellie is back

18th April 2017

Ellie is back. We were nervous that she wouldn't make it because she was stranded in Edinburgh. She had a small administrative error (she didn't book a ticket) and then when she tried to book another one there were no tickets left. She spent hours talking to train staff, trying to find a seat somewhere to no avail. In the end, Ellie had to cut her holiday a day short, get a slow train through the middle of Scotland and then have a four hour journey in a removal van with her ex boyfriend and his pal. Brilliant.

Ben had an Easter extravaganza and made a huge Easter Egg hunt for Nicholas with clues and everything. Unfortunately Ben forgot where he put the first egg and Nicholas cried for 20 minutes until they found it.

We had Yorkshire Vet Peter Wright in this morning talking all about the fourth series which is starting this evening. Ben asked which was his cow hand and he's ambidextrous and said on a cold winter's morning, it is quite pleasant to do a rectal cow examination as it keeps the arm warm…

Fashion City drinking

7th April 2017

Ellie was at Fashion City York last night for the launch of their fashion village. There was free prosecco so Ellie saw a lot more of that than the fashion but the words 'distressed denim', 'embroidery' and 'statement pieces' came up a lot. Ellie started badly, getting ready in 15 minutes and having to iron her top with her straighteners. If you want some style inspiration go to the Minster FM instagram story and have a look at twitter for the catwalk looks.

Ellie is off next week to a hen do which she is very worried about as it's a t-shirt affair. They have all had to get pink t-shirts with black writing on, but she has no idea what they say. Awkwardly, she doesn't really know the bride or the bridal party so what on earth is going to be on the top for Ellie? There can't be much of a nick name because they don't know her. They are going to Edinburgh so Ellie is being asked all the questions so Ben suggested they might have 'tour guide' written on the tshirt, or maybe she will be the only one with the tshirt so they remember she is there in the first place.

It was Lie Detector Friday and after Ellie's fashion extravaganza last night, Ben asked her what she thought of her Mum's style. She said great and got electrocuted. Ellie got electrocuted before she even answered what she thought of Victoria's sense of style and then Cat of the News came live into the studio to grill Ellie. Ellie got electrocuted and tried to smooth it over asking where she got the outfit from. It was awkward.

GAME WHEEL at 7.30am
This week on the Game Wheel you can win a family pass for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Today it was The Big History Quiz and it was a lesson in why you don't just google things. The question was, who invented the steam train in 1784? Ellie was looking for William Murdoch but was forced to accept James Watt amongst other. Beth was our winner who had also googled the same answer as Ellie…

SCREEN STARS
You can win 2 tickets to the Vue every morning at 6.20 am with Screen Stars. The 80s week came to end with this, '
Well, that's the story. So if your air conditioner goes on the fritz or your washing machine blows up or your video recorder conks out; before you call the repairman turn on all the lights, check all the closets and cupboards, look under all the beds, 'cause you never can tell there just might be a gremlin in your house'. Ellie didn't blank out the word gremlin so it was all very easy. Alan from Tadcaster was correct with Gremlins.

PANIC
Play Panic to win £25 if you can name 5 things related to the ‘Panic List’ from your chosen subject at 8.15am. If you panic, you will receive a panic button!

Today Sue had a go at naming five Britney Spears songs but could only get the one unfortunately!

Next week Ellie is off on the hen do so Ben will be flying solo! See you after Easter!
