Minster FM is excited to announce that we're bringing chart-topping pop-rockers McFly to York Races after the sporting action on Saturday July 28th as part of the popular Music Showcase Weekend.

Well known to the public from their success both on the Strictly dancefloor and in the Celebrity Jungle; Harry and Dougie accompanied by band mates Tom and Danny will be performing hits from their number one albums such as the chart topping, All About You, Obviously and 5 Colours In Her Hair.

It promises to be a fun filled 24 hours for racing and music fans as the preceding Friday evening (July 27th), four huge 1980s stars take to the stage: Tony Hadley, Marc Almond, ABC and Altered Images. Click here for details!

McFly’s Harry said of their forthcoming show: “We’ll be in York for our sold-out gig at the Barbican in April, so we’re very excited to be back in the city, performing at the racecourse in July.”

Each year the Music Showcase Weekend is enjoyed by racegoers of all ages with children accompanying parents able to enjoy the fun free of charge.

The two days of racing form part of the Yorkshire Racing Summer Festival supported by Sky Bet and Welcome to Yorkshire; a nine day celebration of racing across the county when all eight flat courses will stage a meeting.
