Simon Hudson hosts our Saturday Breakfast programme. Every now and again we let him loose on you in the week too, you never quite know when he'll pop up.
Simon's claim to fame is performing in The Monty Pythons film "The meaning of life" and it's all gone downhill from then. After studying at a performing arts school in the 80's, leg warmers and all, Simon realised that male dancers needed to be more than 4ft tall. After much soul searching and a couple of years in the wilderness, Barthorpe near Malton to be exact, the question was asked could he get paid for playing music while people danced after a few beers on a Thursday night? After spinning the decks of York's most notorious haunts in the early 90's, including the legendary Friday nights in Toffs, Simon started his first sentence at Minster FM. Helping with road shows, even presenting his one and only show one Saturday night when the regular presenter Stuart KP went absent.
However, it took a radio career in the north east of England and eight years away doing other things to realise that his home town radio station was where he wanted to be. When Simon is not pestering us he runs his own media company in York. | |
