I've been a journalist since 2007 and have covered a wide range of stories from murders and drugs raids to battles over potholes and human interest stories. What I love most is that I never know what my day will bring and it's excitement of bringing that breaking news story to you which makes my job so rewarding."
I'm a Londoner but I come from a Yorkshire family and studied in York for several happy years - it's great to be back in North Yorkshire and reporting on the latest across the county. I've worked at a wide range of stations across East Anglia and the South East but always wanted to move back up north which I did in 2011 when I started work at Minster's sister station Yorkshire Coast Radio in Scarborough before being promoted and moving back to York.
We want the news at Minster FM to be all about you - so we want you to contact us with any news you see happening across North Yorkshire. You'll find our contact details above or there's handy form to fill out just below.
We look forward to speaking to you soon!
Gill Sennett - Broadcast Journalist
I retrained as a journalist in 2006 getting a distinction for my MA from Lincoln University. Initially I wanted to get into print journalism but accidentally got involved in radio at university and found it was something I loved. I couldn’t imagine ever doing any other job now.
I’ve lived most of my life in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire; with a spell in London too. I’ve worked in radio production and before coming to Minster FM freelanced as a broadcast journalist at radio stations throughout East Yorkshire. Kevin and I worked together briefly at Yorkshire Coast Radio, one of Minster FM’s sister stations.
I’ve reported on all sorts of stories, but the ones I love the most are the ones that make a difference to people’s lives. We really do want to hear from you, about issues that affect you and your life.
Serena Farrow - Broadcast Journalist
I always knew my calling in life as I was always a chatterbox, (sorry Mr Clay I know I liked talking rather than listening to your maths lessons!) Being a Yorkshire-lass (from Kirkbymoorside where my parents still live), I swapped my school Easter holiday in order to help out at Minster FM or rather be the A-class Tea Maker. Since then (I was 17 at the time), I caught the bug and went onto work at various radio stations all over the country and abroad, including reporting live at the Australian Open!
I'm so fortunate to be able to help people and create change for the better whilst having fun. I love solving other peoples' problems and getting them a successful outcome. The unpredictability of the job keeps me reeling, and I get high off the the buzz of a breaking story. It's also a great conversation opener to say I've interviewed a plethora of figure heads including David Cameron to the more frivolous Gordon Ramsey, then there's my all-time fave Football Manager Jose Mourinho!
