Police Investigate Serious Crash Near Marton Cum Grafton

Two air ambulance scrambled into action yesterday after a three car crash between Allerton Park and Boroughbridge.
It happened at around 5.30 last night (Sunday 16th June 2013) on the A168 near Marton-Cum-Grafton.
Police say a red ford escort being driven towards Allerton Park collided with a bronze Jaguar and blue ford Ka travelling in the opposite direction.
Officers say the twenty-three year old local man who was the driver of the Ford Escort, was cut from his car by North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue before being airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary.
North Yorkshire Police say that the forty-eight year old driver of the Ka, a man from Bedale was also airlifted to hospital with serious injuries by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Officers add that two young girls from Boroughbridge, who were passengers in the rear of one of the cars, also needed hospital treatment and were taken by ambulance in Harrogate.
The road was closed for over 3 hours.
Police are asking anyone who saw anything to contact them on the 101 number and ask for Traffic Constable 857 Stuart Holden from the Road Policing Group at Harrogate.
