Selby Police Seek Leads Following Suspected Metal Theft

Selby police are appealing for the victim of a theft of lead to come forward after the recovery of a quantity of lead was recovered.
It follows the arrests of an 18-year-old local man and two teenage boys, also local, aged 14 and 16, on suspicion of theft, at 10.25am on Flaxley Road, Selby, say North Yorkshire Police
The police say they were stopped by an officer on routine patrol in the area. When he asked where they had obtained the metal, the group was unable to give a satisfactory answer. As a result, they were arrested and the metal confiscated.
Officers say that all three have been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.
PC Lee Smith, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you have had any lead stolen in the last few weeks and have not yet reported it to the police, I ask you to come forward and report the matter straight away.”
