Police Investigate Attack on Taxi Driver and Son in Easingwold

Easingwold police are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted outside a local pub.

Just after midnight on Saturday 1 June 2013, a 53-year-old taxi driver was assaulted after a bottle was thrown at his cab as he picked up a fare at the Commercial Inn, in Market Place.

He got out to investigate and was punched in the face. His 21-year-old son tried to intervene in the incident and was also assaulted.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them with information.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - select option 2 - and ask for PC Mark Atkinson or Easingwold police.
