Malton Police Investigate Howsham Burglary
3:08pm 23rd May 2013
Malton police are appealing for the public’s help following a burglary and criminal damage near the town.
It occurred between 8pm and 10pm on Sunday 19 May 2013, at Howsham Mill, Howsham.
The burglars took a first aid kit from an unlocked shed and scattered its contents around the site. They also used scaffolding planks to stop the water-wheel, which generates renewable energy, turning.
PC Louise Beck, of Malton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Placing objects into the water-wheel could have damaged equipment generating green energy. Thankfully this was not the case.
”If you can help to identify those responsible for this burglary I urge you to come forward.”
Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is asked to contact on 101, press option 2 and ask for Louise Beck. Alternatively information can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 12130080670.
