Thirsk PCs Investigate After Police Station Vandalised
11:31am 21st May 2013
Thirsk police are appealing for witnesses after damage was caused to the local police station.
At around 2.40am on Thursday 16 May 2013, black paint was sprayed on the front door and one of the windows of the station.
Around the time of the incident a man was seen running along Kirkgate wearing a balaclava, a dark-coloured jumper, and grey tracksuit bottoms with stripes down the leg. He had a slim build with muscular shoulders.
Officers are appealing to anyone who can help identify the man or saw the damage occur, to come forward with information.
Police have established that a white BMW 1 Series drove along Kirkgate towards Norby as the man ran away and it is believed that the driver and any occupants of the vehicle may have seen him and could have information vital to the investigation.
PC Clare Mayes, of Thirsk police said: “It is important that we trace the occupants of the BMW so they can tell us what they saw.”
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Clare Mayes or Thirsk police.
Alternatively, information can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
