Young people in York have created a new animation to help other people understand what it's like to have psychosis.
Charity Community Links has helped by providing support; therapies and social recovery for people who have experienced first episode psychosis.
An animation has been made to raise awareness of psychosis in the hope people are able to obtain help faster and more efficiently. The project has worked alongside a social enterprise 'Biomation' who have supported individuals who use the service to create the animation. This has provided service users with work experience; a sense of ownership of their service; encouraged individuals to engage in more social activity and most importantly make friends and contacts who understand their experiences.
The launch event saw a theatrical performance by the 'out of character' performance group, a performance by the 'converge' choir and stalls from various organisations supporting young people with challenges that they may face.
