New Chairman for Ryedale District Council

Cllr Janet Frank has become the new Chairman of Ryedale District Council.

Janet, Dales Ward Member for Ryedale District Council, became Chairman of Ryedale District Council today, taking over from past Chairman Cllr Eric Hope.

Janet has been a Member of Ryedale District Council for  6 years, representing Appleton le Moors, Bransdale, Fadmoor, Farndale, Gillamoor, Hartoft, Hutton le Hole, Lastingham, Rosedale and Spaunton.

Janet is married to Mike. They have a daughter Carolyn who will be Cllr Franks Consort during her year in office.

Janet was brought up in Farndale and educated at Ryedale School. Cllr Frank has worked in the hotel industry for most of her life and has run the Moors Inn at Appleton-le-Moors for the past 11 years.

Janet, a Conservative member of Ryedale District Council, is also a member of the North York Moors National Park Authority and is a trustee of the Ryedale Folk  Museum’s Harrison Collection.

"I am really looking forward to my year as Chairman of Ryedale District Council,“ said Cllr  Frank.

“It is an honour to represent the Authority as Chairman  and I will do my utmost to promote Ryedale throughout my year in office.”

Janet’s chosen charities for the year are  Farndale Village Hall Restoration Appeal, Ryedale Folk Museum and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Cllr Ann Hopkinson has been elected as Vice-Chairman of Ryedale District Council.
