Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Collision Near Thirsk

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information, following a fatal road traffic collision near Thirsk last night.
Police say that at around 5.50pm on Thursday 2 May 2013, a fatal road traffic collision occurred on Moor End Lane between Sowerby, Thirsk and Dalton.
Officers report that it involved a red DAF goods vehicle and an orange and white KTM motorcycle.
Police say the motorcyclist, a local man aged in his40's, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road remained closed for some hours while traffic officers investigated the cause of the collision and the vehicles were recovered.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision to come forward without delay.
They also need information from people who recall seeing either the goods vehicle, which had travelled from Sowerby towards Dalton, or the motorcycle which had been travelling in the opposite direction, prior to the collision.
