Interviews For North Yorkshire's New Chief Constable

Julia Mulligan

10:39am 16th April 2013

Interviews are taking place today to find North Yorkshire's new chief constable. Police Commissioner Julia Mulligan decided to re-advertise the position in February. She says it's important to get the right person for the job:

Julia Mulligan said ‘I am confident that the re-running of this process will result in a pool of good candidates. I didn’t make an appointment in February as I wanted to be absolutely sure that I had the best possible choice of candidates for this vital role and I am convinced that this will be the case this time around.’

The Commissioner is expected to announce her preferred candidate for the new Chief on 17 April following which the Police and Crime Panel will need to hold a confirmation hearing before the appointment can be finalised.
