New Conservative Leader for Hambleton Council
4:19pm 9th April 2013
Hambleton District Council’s controlling Conservative group has a new leader.
Councillor Mark Robson was last night elected as Leader of the Conservative group.
He takes over from Councillor Neville Huxtable who is stepping aside for personal reasons.
Councillor Robson – who represents the Sowerby ward – has been a district councillor for the last 14 years, serving as a Cabinet member since 2011.
Councillor Peter Wilkinson of Northallerton will be his deputy.
A new Leader of the authority will be elected at the annual Council meeting in May.
