Police Search for Missing Tadcaster Woman

Valerie Galley 260313

6:35am 26th March 2013

Police are appealing for the public’s help as they search for a woman who has been reported missing from home.

Valerie Galley, aged 49, was last seen by her son when she left their home in Ulleskelf, near Tadcaster, at 9am on Monday 25 March 2012.

She has not been heard from since and officers are growing concerned for her safety.

Members of the public are being urged to contact the police if they see Valerie or know where she is.

Valerie, who left home riding a light blue ladies bike, is thought to be wearing a dark-coloured waterproof jacket and blue jeans.

PC Liz Hartley, of Tadcaster Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Valerie set off on a bike ride on Monday morning and nobody has seen or heard from her since.

“Her family are obviously very concerned for her and it is important that anyone who sees or has seen Valerie gets in touch with the police as soon as possible.”

Officers are currently searching open land around the Ulleskelf, Tadcaster and Ryther areas and are urging residents in those areas to keep an eye out for Valerie.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.
