York Man Charged After Domestic Incident

A York man has been charged with wounding and assault following domestic incident on Saturday night.

North Yorkshire Police say that the 27-year-old has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault. He has been remanded in custody to appear at York Magistrates’ Court this morning.

They add that the man was arrested last night following a disturbance at a property in Burdyke Avenue, York in which a woman in her twenties sustained serious injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who heard or witnessed the disturbance at around 9pm on Saturday evening to contact them.

Anyone with any information can contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for York Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit. Or, say police, if you prefer not to give your name, you can pass information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
