North Yorkshire County Council say:
"North Yorkshire County Council is making every effort to support local businesses during the construction of the Barlby roundabout. The roundabout will replace the existing A19/A63 junction at Barlby and Osgodby near Selby which is a staggered cross-road that has become an accident black spot with hazardous right hand turns
"Local Businesses Open as Usual’ signage is being displayed wherever necessary. In Osgodby we have put up special temporary signs around the diversion route stating by name that Moorside Building Services is open as usual, with directional signs pointing the traffic in their direction.
"Construction of the roundabout was delayed due to third party issues over acquiring land for the project but as we now have the benefit of longer daylight hours we hope this will help us to complete in good time. The county council will ensure that contractors work to maximum efficiency and incentives have been included in the contract to secure early completion of the work.
"The construction is obviously a major undertaking with all the related inconvenience, but it will resolve long-standing safety issues and will provide great relief to local people and the travelling public".
