Reducing Number of Councils In North Yorkshire To Be Discussed

The idea of replacing smaller borough councils in North Yorkshire with a larger council that covers a wider area will be discussed today.
There's a meeting of the district councils later and this is on their agenda.
It was originally put forward by the labour group on Scarborough Borough Council.
They think reducing the number of authorities in North Yorkshire from eight to just two or three will save money.
Councillor Colin Challen who's from the Labour group explains why:
