York City has announced their new manager.
Nigel Worthington was most recently manager of the Northern Ireland International side and spent four years in the role from 2007 to 2011. Prior to this, he had a spell at Leicester City as caretaker manager in 2007.
However, most notably, Nigel was manager of Norwich City from 2000 to 2006, where he guided the Norfolk club to the Premier League in the 2003 / 2004 season, say York City's Board of Directors.
After ending his successful playing career at Blackpool, Nigel also spent two years as manager of the Seasiders from 1997 to 1999.
The decision to appoint Nigel was based on his solid Football League experience, his strong coaching ability and his extensive knowledge of players throughout the leagues, say York City's Board of Directors.
